1999 Grand Cherokee, remote starter turns over but the car cuts off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My remote starter worked fine, but now when I use it, the car turns over and as soon as it starts, it turns off abruptly... Any idea why this would happen?

is it a factory or aftermarket remote,if aftermarket, disenguadge it,something in it has burned out.

Not sure... I think it is aftermarket but it was installed by the dealer at purchase. Not sure exactly when the problem started, but I think it was after work was done. I've sat in the car when trying it and a light on the dash (key with a slash through it) lights up when you try it. I am wondering if there was a security feature that had been disabled and is somehow reset?

It could be,since dealer installed,I would take it back and get them to fix it.just because it was dealer installed, dont mean it is right.
