Will a 2008 shifter from a jeep grand Cherokee fit into a 1998 grand cherokee

are you talking about the shifter knob its self? if so I believe no as the shifting stick looks thicker than the one one the 2008 and could not be screwed on and you also need the button on the shifter to unkock the gear switch which the 2008 shifter does not have,
