Could fixing my cam chain tensioner stop my car from dying.

Asked by Audi_girl Jun 28, 2019 at 10:48 AM about the 2002 Audi A4 1.8T quattro AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Audie A4 dies about 15 to 20 mins after I
start it, sometimes twice. It has died twice and
stayed dead for about and hour and then it started
back up. Would fixing my cam chain tensioner help
with this or should I be looking for a different
cause?..

1 Answer

If the tensioner is bad the chain should be rattling a lot. A loose timing chain could slip and ruin your engine so take care of the issue!
