16" rims for a 2005 1500

If the wheels interfere w/ the calipers, then they are the wrong wheels. If you pursue it, you can get spacers and end up w/ vibrations, damaged studs and possible death from wheel coming off. I was in the business for 32 years. Trust me. If you bought new, return them. If used try again. If someone is "your mechanic", then you should trust them.

dont sound right,theese vehicles came with16 to 18 inch wheels.are they factory or aftermarket,eather way they should fit.

no they won't fit I have same problem with mine depends on the year which I did not know until after I bought used rims for mine now i'm looking for 16inch rims for a 99 gmc. I feel you.

I have a 99 GMC Sierra Bought an 05 05 has 17" wanted to use my 16'' tires. the wheels won't work. interferes with the brakes. looking for new 16" myself. i have 3 complete sets of 16" tires including studded snows so it's cheaper for me to buy new wheels and use the tires

I Absolutely cannot believe that a wheel 1/2” less in diameter will not fit. WTF

I have a 99-Silverado 1500 that I bought with 20" rims/tires. Used them up in two years and today bought a set of very used General tires mounted on four 6-lug GMS rims off of a Danalli. Front wheels went right on with lots of room between rim and the dual-piston brake calipers up front. Then the back wheels: NO GO. The 16" rims (door panel tag states that the 16" is factory), The rims bind and scrape against the single piston brake caliper. Looked on caliper to find scrape marks, then electric grinder and try again .. and again. Finally got it, no scraping or noise, and just now finished test driving it in many different situations. Worked. And I do not feel the caliper metal taken off was too much at all. Have fun
