how do i open hood from outside truck-with cable broken ?

cable pull from inside truck is broken-how do i open hood from outside ?

had this happen on a car one time. I was able to reach up from underneath with a piece of stiff wire with a small hook bent on the end. I was able to reach up right where the cable went into the latch and pull on the cable right there and it popped.
