Low compression on Valve 2 caused a misfire. Best way to fix?

Asked by Kyle Oct 18, 2018 at 07:23 PM about the 1997 Dodge RAM Van 2500 Cargo RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Dodge B2500 V8 and had in the shop for a check engine light
that was went on then off. Code p0302. Spark plugs and wires are good. Low
compression on valve 2 110psi (other was 170). Performed a leak test and held
only 30psi before it leaked. Best option to fix. Can I drive? Seems fine.

1 Answer

Pull the heads and rebuild them. Make sure it is the valve and not the rings!
