2001 dodge Grand Caravan Ex smaller plug?
Hi everyone! So see if this stumps
you guys as it has me. I was doing
a tune up on my van and noticed in
cylinder 2 there was a weird plug
that doesnt belong to my car. I have
no idea where it came from. It was
in the car when i got it. So a regular
size one doesnt fit and the smaller
plug has difficulties going in as
well. I drove about 100,000 miles
like that. The car has 287,000 miles
on it. Anyone know a reason there
would be one shorter plug in there?
Some ghetto mechanic did a cheap tune up in the past and probably put a mismatched set of plugs in. Hopefully the plug bore is not cross-threaded or stripped as the root cause for the mismatch.
Thats been my guess as well. So to top this off whats the best way to make the correct one fit i tried to put one of those little coil thing on there it doesnt go all the way down in still....
You'll have to check the condition of the threads, there are a nnumber of ways to repair threads, depending on what needs to be done and how much money you want to spend. Youtube vids may give you a starting point.
Well cheapest first...lol
