when installing a reconditioned pcm,i have to program with VIN, now having just swapped the engine out does that have any bearing on programming the VIN that is on chassis?

Yes, that goes without saying. Always disconnect the battery before working on an electronic component. I did some more research and it seems that I can just enter the VIN, even though the engine is from a different vehicle, just as long as the engine is the same size. I will be ordering a PCM reprogrammed online.I will pay $200 for the part and install myself(EASY INSTALL) Shop wanted $700....I will update when i finish my install
