05 taurus se no power to ac relay or low pressure switch.

hello. I have no ac. I checked the clutch and it clicks when i put 12v to it by the
connector. i checked ground wire at connector and it has ground. I have no
power at low pressure switch, or at the 15 amp fuse. And i dont have any power
at the relay. I checked the 2 amp fuse in the compartment, and it is good. i'm at
a loss right now.. 'any ideas on where to start. My check engine light is one but i
believe it has to do with the egr. i'm going to get the codes either today ro
tomorrow or as soon as i can,  How do i check going from the control in the
dash.  ANy help. thanks.

When you turn on the air conditioning an A/C request signal is sent to the computer. The computer will energize the compressor clutch. If the computer thinks the engine is overheating the air conditioning will be disabled. If you have a temperature gauge on the dash is it working? If not that's probably why the check engine light is on. Also, when the computer is not getting a signal from the coolant temperature sensor it assumes the engine is overheating. The computer will disable the air conditioning and turn on the radiator cooling fans. So if the temperature gauge is not working, check the coolant temperature sensor and the wiring going to it. Plus have the computer scanned for those trouble codes and see if a coolant temperature sensor code pops up. If it does, that's probably why the air conditioning isn't working. Hope that helps! Jim
