My 2002 Taurus SES has no interior heat.

Asked by ses2002 Nov 21, 2018 at 01:11 AM about the 2002 Ford Taurus SES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Taurus SES has no interior heat. The system blows very well, but not
hot or even warm air.  What's the problem, and what's the best solution?

I had a Taurus, of the same year, or maybe a one year model newer. I had the same problem. My mechanic told me it was a plugged up heater core. He told me that you really can't clean them, you have to replace them. When he told me it would be 3-4 hundred dollars to do, I said, no way, and took my car and sold it, for about a half of what it was worth, even with the problem. But the Taurus SES is a pretty decent car. Not fancy, but not plain jane either.

Top up the radiator and overflow bottle with coolant. Just might be air collecting in the heater core.
