ANY CLUE? 2005 FORD 500 AC/DEFROST SHUTS CAR OFF

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I go to run the a.c. unit or defrost it shuts the
engine off. It then causes me to half to wait before
I can turn the car over. I have not taken it to a shop
only cause I'm not looking to drop $1000 and more
to replace the compressor. But was looking for a
simple solution, easy fix. If anyone has a clue
about this situation I'm all ears. Thank you.
