I have an 06 ford explorer xlt.  It has a fluid
reservoir under the dash on passenger side. What
is it for?

Fluid reservoir? Are you talking about the heater core?

No. If your sitting in the passenger seat the side panel next to your right foot has a plastic container behind it.
