Ford Explorer 2006 Stops When Fuel Tank is Full

Asked by Aramis Dec 03, 2018 at 08:45 AM about the 2006 Ford Explorer XLT V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Ford Explorer 2006 stops when the fuel tank is
full. After a quarter of tank is consumed, the
vehicle runs perfectly.

Can anyone give me a clue about this issue?

Thank you in advanced for your help and time.

Regards.

On my 2010 it warns not to overfill the gas tank, stop introducing gasoline when the pump clicks off the first time. If your system has a sealed system, raw liquid gasoline is forced into vapor line. It can destroy the canister and purge valve pump.
