Bad alternator

I have a 2006 ford explorer v6 4.0. I just changed the water
pump because of serious leak. My truck is still running hot,
i have a bad alternator and battery, can that cause the over
heating

the cooling system is s pressurised "closed" system- when you open it, some air gets into the system- this is probably your problem- air bubbles in there-

every car is different- a few are impossible without a tool to put pressure in- but in general, take off the radiator cap and squeeze the radiator hoses- watch the bubbles come out the cap opening- the problem with overheating is when the bubbles get behind the thermostat and won't let it open- assuming you don't have something else wrong with the car-
