What's the most typical reason for a Engine compartment area exhaust leak? 2001 4.0L OHC

My 01' Explorer has an exhaust leak up around the passenger side exhaust
manifold. I can't seem to locate it. It seems to be a single cylinder. Any ideas?

Exhaust manifold may be cracked. I would take it off and inspect it. If there are no cracks and it was mounted metal on metal, they make an exhaust gasket to in against the head, if thats where it is leaking. Some of them Fords have a exhaust tube for the EGR system that may be rotted out.

Rowefast. The EGR thing would not surprise me at all. Why? Because the automatic transmission dip stick tube completely rotted out !!!!!!!!!!!! ;(

Check connections, flanges may be warped causing the exhaust to burn out the gasket. Heres a fix i created to fix my non-Ford vehicle.
