clearcoat on wheels

has anyone stripped the clear from expedition wheels?can the silver be saved is there a way?should i reclear the rim after the oxidation is removed or just buff them up and leave them uncleared? any suggestions welcomed.

Once you clean off the oxidation the metal will need to be resealed or it will just oxidize again. Changes are when you strip them they will have to be repainted if the oxidation got behind the paint.

Thanks for the advice Larry. The oxidation is only where the wheel weights are or have been. It's not that bad yet but as you know its not going to go away only going to get worse.

Oxidation is like a cancer, get it out or kill it. Go to your dealer body shop and find out how they do it.
