Ford 2003 Expedition Flasher Location

Asked by Joey Oct 04, 2016 at 12:48 PM about the 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My turn signals are starting to malfunction. I
noticed it also affects my flashers. Have been told
the relay is going bad. Picked up the plug-in part,
but locating it's location is a problem.  Diagram
shows it under drivers dash, but no luck after
removing plastics. Found fuse box on pass kick
panel, but not sure if any there are the flasher relay.
Can you direct me?

God Bless Ford. They made the location for a plug & play flasher relay, next to almost impossible to access. After removing plastics & metal plate under steering column, it was tucked away behind metal bracing, about as high up inside the dash as possible. I drilled out 2 rivets thru the bracing, so the harness was able to drop. At this point it was a piece of cake removing the cover & plugging the new one in.
