Read this article first: http://www.yourlawyer.com/articles/read/11274 Note that while Ford knows the switch has been installed in over 16 million vehicles, it has recalled a little over 1 million so far. Take the VIN number of the vehicle you are looking at to the Ford dealer nearest you and see if it is affected by the recall. They can look up a vehicle to see if the recall has been performed or not, or if an open recall even exists. Know, however, that whether or not Ford has issued a recall for that particular vehicle, the defective switch may be present, and may cause you a problem down the road.
