Radiator indicator light dash

Radiator indicator light is on but my Ford
Escape xlt is not over heating. Why is that
light coming on?

The reservoir has a sensor that goes bad. Replace the reservoir with a new one. Pretty cheap ones found at Rock auto. Had the same issue.

Thats great explanation but does the water pump cause the radiator indicator lights on?

I had radiator light tun on on my truck the same with no problem but the it over heated and immediatly took care of it, but before that it started leaking from the pump.I replaced the pump and thermostat. About $150 in parts cheaper than replacing the engine or buying another suv.
