Will a 99 Ford Ranger transmission fit and work on a 93 Ford Ranger

I have a 1993 Ford Ranger with a bad transmission.
The only one I have found is off a 1999. But the
problem is that mine was the last year that they
were mechanical. 1994 and above are electrical.
My question is will it still fit and work. Please help.

Yes it'll work fine I had the same issue. I put my 99 tranny in my 93 in 2011 and truck still runs strong today. Only thing is there is nowhere to plug the electrical since it's not compatible on the 93 so you won't have a speeedometer or odometer.

So my boyfriend just bought a 97 ford ranger, but the transmission is from a 07 ranger. Are those to compatible or does he need to get an 97 transmission?
