gauges all work but car wont start

my 06 mustang sat for half a year,so battery was dead,tried boosting and
engine would turn over but no fire.after a bit all my gauges and radio came on
with out even the key in the ignition.now my starter wont even click when i try to
start. i have to disconnect my battery as the lights and gauges and radio stay
on.ugggggg

It sounds like you have an ignition switch or a wiring problem. That's about the only thing that can cause the gauges to come on without the key in the key cylinder. It could also explain why your car won't click, if the switch is actually bad. Good Luck:)
