Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When starting out in drive
trans acts like its maybe
slipping or not catching or
kicking in the after
feathering gas pedal it acts
like it kicks in or locks in
and pulls and shifts fine
but real smooth like fluid is
not burnt and trans temp
hasn't raised any but after
you stop you have to
feather pedal again and it
will kick in or lock in also
has a small whine in it like
power steering pump what
is it causing this?

1 Answer

The steering pump might be going bad but my 93 Burb sounds like that for years and no issues. The trans is controlled my solenoids and sounds like they might be bad. If you take the pan and filter off they are in the side of the valve body and are held in by a small clip. When you take them out it will loose more fluid so be ready. Hope this helps.
