Can you put a transmission from a 1993 Silverado suburban into a 2005 1500 Chevy 2wd

Transmission numbers match up but have a question on if
it's going to fit .

Sure it will fit, but it will not work. 1993 trany run off of a OBD1 computer, 2005 trany runs off of a OBDII computer.

Hey, just got back, ah, no on that question, the OBD1 is outdated, and will not run the 2005 engine that is run by the OBDII computer. In other words, there not interchangeable.

He would have to switch the engine and the trany into the '95 along with the wiring harness, ECU and the transmission control module. It is quite the job to do but possible.
