i'm having issue in my 2003 Siverado 1500HD.. driving down road and it died..
tried getting start then noticed theft light.. ran diagnostic and came back theft
mode... have has plenty of people tell me this and that none that I tried work..
had a guy who says worked for GM before said it's a fuse in the panel by
drivers door.. couldn't remember which fuse but it's a smaller one and it won't
be blown.. pull it and it will disable theft mode... any idea which fuse it would
be or how I can get it out of theft mode and back on road. Thank you all for
your help

Everybody is an expert on security system failures. If they were so easy to reset, bypass, disable, etc., etc., etc. they wouldn't be security systems, would they? The best thing to do is have the vehicle towed to your local Chevrolet Dealer for repairs. Your Silverado uses a transponder key which the computer must recognize to start and run the engine. For some reason the computer no longer recognizes that key. Do you have a spare key? If so, try it. Most likely it's the anti theft module, or the BCM (Body Control Module). It could even be the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). But if replaced each part needs to be programmed to the vehicle using your VIN. In the long run it will be cheaper to let the Chevy Dealer fix it. Jim
