loose gas cap, check engine light

My check engine light came on. But I then noticed the gas cap was very
loose. I tightened the gas cap and the light stayed on. I’ve heard the loose
gas cap can cause the light to go on. Just want to reset it and see if the light
comes back.

Disconnect your red positive battery cable,count to 10 seconds and reconnect it. Should reset everything.
Fuel tank pressure sensor and new gas cap . you can access sensor without taking out tank reach hand under where gas cap is unspap connector then pull out . replace same but reverse Location feel harness two one for electrical fuel pump other is it

Before spending a lot of money, gently pry the gas cap 0-ring out and flip it over.

Have bought new cap and also had state inspection gentleman check the pressure and says it is good but it continues to come on saying tighten gas cap even after disconnecting battery cable to reset system

I checked the gas cap, then unloosen it, then retighten it till I heard the one click. Then I took off the positive side on the battery and waited about 15 seconds, hooked the cable back up and tightened it, got in the truck started it up and no engine light, Happy camper !
