Did I buy a Bad fuel pump???

I Have a '04 1500 and recently had to change my fuel pump. It ran great for
about a week, and then i would go to crank it and i would have to turn it over a
few times and pump the gas for it to start.

Well who-ever told you that is full of it. The fuel filter is underneath the drivers side door. And what size engine is this, Looks to me it is the 4.3L . Like Tom says, verify the fuel pressure before and after changing the fuel filter. Fuel pressure should be 56 to 63 lbs. up on the Schrader Valve.
