Malibu Maxx Shifting

Hi I have a 2004 Malibu Maxx, two times now after
parking my car and turning it off then turning it back
on, the shifter will become stuck in park. Waiting
30-40 minutes and it works normally again? Any
suggestions what’s wrong?

Car is equipped with "Park-Interlock" device, preventing moving the shifter from park unless brake pedal is depressed. Look to that device, as to even a simple brake light switch out of adjustment/failed.
