my 93 chevy van runs good and then jumps while exellerating.. i was told it was a sensor? where it that located

What sensor? Sounds like the load is causing it to missfire. Have you checked the ignition system, (wires plugs, if its a distributor the cap and rotor should be checked, coil or coils depending on the setup.
