What is purpose of several vertical slots in dashboard next to ignition switch?

There is a series of vertical slots in the dashboard right next to the ignition switch.  Any ideas what they are for?

Toyota is known for leaving block-out plates where options go in higher-optioned cars. Most likely that is what you are seeing here -- places where a switch or button would go if you had certain options.
