a family member wants to give me a white 2 door 94 explorer it has some problems but for the most part its a solid truck my question is it even worth saving?

he says he thinks its got a blown head gascet and i know its been sitting over 2 years. its
hard to start and going through water like crazy. i havent went all the way into it yet but
wanted to do a little research before i go and pick it up any advise?

Depends on your position. A 4.0 V6 Jasper remanufacturered engine will run about 3500 installed with a 100K warrant and many years. A reman transmission, if needed, may be a little less expensive. If the rest of the vehicle is in good condition you will have a very reliable vehicle aot about 6K bucks. The mechanics on these older explorers are relatively simple to repair if you have the basic knowledge. Brakes are a snap as well as front end work.
