Cut out in floor board

Asked by GuruD9DV1K Aug 08, 2023 at 11:32 PM about the 2023 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can someone tell me what this is? It appears
to be a cut out in the passenger side
floorboard. I got it with only 5 miles / brand
new 2023 highlander.

Peel thee carpet & insulation back and you'll probably see the VIN. It's supposed to be sealed better than that, but this is a VIN access point for identification in case of theft. The car's new and you should have the dealer fix this for you under warranty. I'm guessing some chimpanzee in the shop wondered about this and pulled it up.
