Stuck in sand

Asked by blachjr Nov 16, 2008 at 10:26 AM about the 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara RWD

Question type: General

Is there something wrong? On the slightest of dune inclines the the vehicle cannot get going,(Even backwards). I have the engine spinning at 3000rpm but after the inital inertia of trying to move I end up with no wheel spin at all, and stuck. This cannot be right  every other 4x4 out in the dunes does not get stuck so easily. I know it only makes 200 HP compared to 300 plus of other machines but it should at least spin the wheels even if it only digs in deeper. Where is all the energy going if there is no wheel spin?

the 4 door wrangler is much heavier than the orginal therefore the 200 hp doesnt do as well. put it in 4 lo youll have much more torque out of you engine, and if your gonna be playin in the sand alot think about investing in some aftermarket wide tires, they work the best in sand
