Where can I get a cold air intake system installed?

Asked by AlexisOwner Feb 19, 2008 at 10:09 PM about the 1993 Lexus SC 400 RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I'm thinking about buying the intake system online, then taking it to Pep Boys.  Any ideas?

You could easily install this yourself. Typically it just involves removing the old air box and intake plastic tubing and putting the new intake in. Only common hand tools are required. Or, you could take it to a local garage or a local tuner-type shop that specializes. Some guys will even do this stuff on the side so you might try talking to a mechanic you trust to see if they could give you a break.

not every car is a 15 min job, some are more difficult than others, for example on a trans am you have to relocate the accuator for the headlights, remove the splash pan and air dam, and the car sits too low to do it on level ground. but yea, you should still be able to do it yourself.

The SC400's intake is pretty straight foward to switch. Nothing blocking it more making it complicated
