Close Fuel lid warning light wont shut off

Close Fuel lid warning light wont shut off
I just picked up my SUV from the mechanic for an oil
change, and AC charge. But now the "close fuel lid"
warning
is on and wont shut off. The lid is closed. But it almost
looks like  someone  tried to pry it open. It looks like it
wont
close all the way, its not flush. Also when i hit the  button
the door no longer "pops" open. They said the mechanic
who worked on my car never  touched  it. It was fine when
I dropped it off.  Now its not. Im hoping its maybe either  a
bracket/spring  that broke or its bent and its a cheap easy
fix.

The "mechanic" should not have been near your fill tube doing an oil change and AC work. I would go back to the shop and ask again to have them fix it. There is a sensor that is in the neck that will tell the computer the fill door has not been shut. It is probably not aligned correctly after the guy tried to open it by brute force. An honest shop will work with you.
