Thermostat or radiator

When driving I just notice the thermostat
needle go up to the red when I accelerate in
go down to the midpoint ont the reader when I
take my foot of the gas need to know is this a
thermostat issue or radiator issue

Next time it does it ck the upper and lower radiator hoses. If one is hot and other is cooler, test the thermostat. Pull it out, boil some water, place it in and see if it opens and closes then when removed. If not, change it.

are you sure that the radiator is full of fluid? dont just rely on the overflow bottle. with the engine cold, take off the radiator cap and make sure.
