2006 Lexus RX 330. Ac blows cold when moving. At idle, Ac light blinks and blows hot.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When car is moving, AC blows very cold. When car sits still for a few
minutes, recirculation light goes out, and AC light starts blinking. At that
point car begins to blow hot air. Took to local dealer who kept car two day's
and charged me over 500 dollars and said it had a bad relay. Drove the car
back to my wifes work. All seemed fine. When she left work, she pulled
over to make a call and the same thing happened again. I'm about to pull
my hair out! Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Many
thanks in advance for help!

Check internet for this bulletin that was issued on 06/03/05. TSB EL011-05 Technical Service BULLETIN - Toyota Parts. Not sure if your car has a magnetic clutch relay but Toyota issued a service bulletin that corrects a similar problem. Print the bulletin and take it to your dealer. It is my understanding that not all cars after 2005 have the relay part number 90987-02022, which should be replaced with the part number 90987-02028. Best wishes.

If I didn't get my Lexus at an actual dealership ..Would I still take it to a Lexus repair shop to have the problem about my air fixed?..or do I just use any repair place?

The AC is good very cold but when you engage from park to reverse the ac or the compre cut off then when you engage to neutral the compressor is on and cold but engaging to drive the compressor cut off again. What will be the problem any suggestion please thank you.

Just fixed mine, the issue was radiator fan module. I changed the radiator, compressor and even the relay fuse block, nothing worked until the radiator fan module finally gave out and was replaced.
