Stopped accelerating and braked on its own while driving on the highway. Smoke coming from hood. It won't move in drive or reverse.

Jacked it up with the front tires elevated
then put it in drive and reverse and the tires
rotate.  Transmission was rebuilt less than
20,000 miles ago

Did you get any kind of warranty on the rebuild? if so have it towed back, since it sounds like the transmission is toast.

Have you checked the transmission to make sure its fluid is full and doesnt have a burnt smell or brown color to it? It should be red clean with no metal shavings in it.
