Pulley alignment for 2002 Lexus RX 300

Asked by Lexusrx300utah Jan 21, 2017 at 03:44 PM about the 2002 Lexus RX 300 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced the alternator in my 2002
Lexus 300 RX , but now the alternator belt
is constantly squealing very loud.  I believe
it's pulley misalignment I did the spray
water test and it did stop the sound for a
few seconds, but I can't find anything
online for how to align the Pulley itself.
Please tell me how

Usually it is the belt tensioner, it starts to separate between the mount to the arm that holds the pulley. It doesn't take much and it throws the alignment of the belt off. Make sure all idler pulleys are good, check with the belt off.
