The lights fail to illuminate whenit is cold. I would turn on the heater to warm up the instrument panel circuit board. Two capacitors are going bad on the main board behind the instrument cluster. There are excellent instructions on the repair on the the Lexus owners club board. I suspect the fuel gauge is not reading correctly. This is another capacitor that is failing. I replaced all three caps today and everything is working great again.
