do you check transmission fluid if its cold or hot?
for a 2005 subaru legacy GT

There are cold and hot marks on the dipstick but the best way is to check it hot.

Sometimes the instructions are imprinted on the dipstick. That info should also be in the owner's manual. Fluid check procedures can vary from model to model.
