These are the numbers for the upcoming BMW Gran Turismo aka the CS Concept aka the M8 concept. The older 850CSi's were considered by enthusiasts to be M8's although it was never official. The engine for the model was tuned by the M-Division but it wasn't badged. One M8 prototype was produced, but the project was scrapped after BMW determined that there was no market for the M8. The new Gran Turismo is kinda seen as a new incarnation of the old 8-series, even though its not technically that, but a whole new car, altogether. Anyway, if you were asking about the 850CSi, (1992-1996) it hits 0-100km/h (62mph) in 6 seconds.

You're welcome...And yes, you are being told some crap although it's easy to get confused as this topic can be...confusing. The M1 (1978-1981) was BMW's first M car and was intended to be a Group 4 and Group 5 homologation car. However, due to production delays, the car didn't meet new regulations which required that 400 production cars be sold. By the time it did meet this requirement, the car was outdated and couldn't compete with other, newer models. And, by this time, BMW was becoming more interested in F1 and decided to drop the M1 project. So, in 1981, the M1 was retired. Only one M8 prototype was ever produced. The car most similar to is is the 850CSi and the M1 was a completely different project. If you haven't seen the new M1 Homage, check it out. It's pretty sick. http://jalopnik.com/384455/bmw-m1-homage-concept-revealed
