In 1931 Buick went to the OHV straight 8. So this engine would be 1930 or earlier. If you can find a number stamped on the engine there are list that will give you an exact year.

Saw your other post that has the numbers...197950, 201706, and 1988?? From the reference I have,1924 and later engine numbers were 7 digits. 1915 to 1923 were 6 digit numbers That is about as close I can get until I find a better breakdown of the numbers.

Buick made quite a few cars back then and with this one sitting outside for many years, the engine is probably stuck..... rust has probably made even the recognizable parts unusable. Its only value might be for a museum display (but it is not complete) best option, scrap metal
