Standard rpms

Question type: General

What is the standard rpms for a 1986 454 R/V
chevy engine?  At what point is it not safe?

1 Answer

Power probably peaks below 5,000 rpm and there would be no reason to ever rev higher. If it were my RV I probably would not exceed 3,500 rpm on steep grades. Peak torque is around 2,600 to 2,800 rpm.
