Liquid spilt on gear stick

Sprite got spilled over the gear stick of my
automatic sang Yong rexton while the vehicle was
on but in park mode and now the stick won't move
out of the park position. Any recommendations on
what I should do. Please

I would put a small amount of dawn or whatever dish detergent you have into a clean 12 once soda bottle filled with water and dump it down the same place the Sprite went while you are jiggling the shifter ,,, keep your foot hard on the brake pedal but release the emergency brake ... you should feel the shifter start to move after the liquid desolves the sugar in the Sprite
