Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So i checked the oil in the morning and somehow
didnt put the oil stick fully back ( i noticed it after i
got home) and when i stopped at light the engine
reved up slightly by itself , when i did put back the
oil stick it stopped doing it but im just curious if it
was really because the oil stick wasnt fully in?

Maybe the loose dipstick caused more air to flow to the engine through the PCV causing the high idle.
