Cummins 6.7 or Vortec 6.0 for towing 12000#?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am a excavation contractor and selling my current truck (powerstroke 6.0)
because it is time to retire it, debating now if I want a Cummins 6.7, or Chevy
6.0? Truck is used all day every day for work, and will have to tow a lot. The
cummins is more expensive to fix, but will offer better torque. Cummins
comes with a bad transmission though. Vortec has a better tranny, but worse
fuel economy, but does seem to be a very reliable, powerful motor, that is
inexpensive to fix. Thoughts?

Ford pretty much fixed all their diesel problems with the 6.7. I think this is mostly a personal preference issue. If you tow that much all the time get a 1 ton or heavier truck.
