Best is a matter of opinion. Do you want 4 wheel drive or AWD? Is economy the goal or do you need lots of seating? Is your budget small or big?

FWD. Automatic. 5 seats are plenty. Comfort vs economy. Safety vs comfort. Car for wife to drive intown. Budget up to $17k.
