Rear seat removal question

Question type: Car Customization

I have a Mazdaspeed 3 which of course, is a hatchback. Thing is, I see
pretty often people removing their rear seats for weight reduction. I have
done it myself and can say I did felt a slight difference, it's actually pretty
nice. However, I tend to keep them off for a while, mainly because I never
take people in my car, 98% of the time I'm by myself, and the other 2%
would usually be a friend or so, but never have more than 2 people.

My only question is, especially for those who has done it as well; How can
you cover the ugly part where the seat was? It looks somewhat bad, and I'd
like to cover it somehow and make it look more like those 2 seated vans, and
have this huge space in the back, like a wagon. Anything I can do to cover it
up?

I would go to an auto upholstery shop and see what they can do for you. You could also look at peel and stick carpets.
