Is the CEL on? Have you done a tuneup or filter change since you bought the car?

Sorry..the check engine light doesn't come on..car acts normal when starting and driving..it just shuts off twice going downhill at a stop and once at a parking lot where I stopped to let cars in front of me.

Check the battery cable connections. You are looking for corrosion or something loose. If you see green corrosion on the battery cable ends they need to be cleaned and reconnected. Certainly you may have some other issue, but this is the first place to start looking. Always start with the basics and work up from there.

Also check to see if all relays and fuses are properly seated in the under hood fuse box.
