Ignition lock cylinder

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 97 f 150 and I changed the igintion lock
cylinder and when I put it back together. First
everything seemed to be fine, the lights n dash
lights came on but it wouldn't start, just made a
whining sound. Not a click. And I also notice when
I turned it off the clock on the radio stayed on.
What could be the problem?

On the back of the cylinder is the actual ignition switch you have to make sure that it is lined up with the cylinder count the clicks from completely off to On. they are not aligned and it’s killing your battery
